Last weekend to celebrate my one year surgiversy I went camping with Cory, TJ, J, K and J.G. and their two kids. We went around to Middleburg PA to Diamond S Mudbog. I’d never been mudding before, but camping -that I can do! We got there on Friday and set up camp, cleaned the fire pit yadda yadda. Well K was pretty hungry and we were cooking on the fire and since that wasn’t lit yet, so I got the fire started and kept it going all weekend! After the fire died down into a good coal bed we ate dinner. Cory and JG built a scout together out of parts from the ‘good’ scout and we went mudding in that. TJ and a Suzuki which you see in the picture and we went a few rides before we went to bed. Cory and I slept in a Tee Pee made from sticks and a huge ass tarp, everyone else was sleeping in the back of their SUV’s or trucks. The next morning we made coffee, breakfast and got ready to go down to the pit to ride. I was super excited and couldn’t wait to go out and get muddy.
So JG and crew went in and Cory wasn’t exactly ready yet, so we went in the scout, which doesn’t get you that muddy but you can beat the shit out of it and be fine. So I went in a lot. Hauled myself in the back which was a none scale victory in and of itself because I had to literally lift my body into the back of it and a year ago it wouldn’t fly because I couldn’t have lifted myself. So anyways we went out and we finally got the scout stuck because it just got too hot and the clay-mud we were dealing with baked into the exhaust area, and I got mud everywhere. It was awesome. Then TJ took me out into the pit with his little jeep thing and he broke it bad. The driving axel got lost in the mud. I got mud in my eye thanks to a mud fight gone wrong and omg did it hurt BAD. But I flushed out my eye and everything was better. I did have a beer after that though because I just wasn’t dealing with the rest of the day with out a buzz on.
Me, all muddy and so tired but worth every minute of it. I had so much fun! I can’t wait for our next camping trip!
